Squadron 44's own C/CMSgt Seung W. Lee was recently awarded the first place honors in the national Drug Demand Reduction Speech Contest.

This contest allows Cadets from across the country to submit a video of their speech on a topic that promotes a drug-free lifestyle. The speeches are scored by a panel of judges at National Headquarters (Maxwell AFB) using criteria such as content, professionalism of delivery and appearance/image.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program transforms youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders. One way it does this is by challenging cadets to step outside their comfort zone and providing opportunities to develop verbal communication skills. CAP strives to teach our cadets and senior members to make responsible choices and to help reduce the demand for illegal and illicit drugs in America. The DDR Speech Contest brings together these missions and helps to develop young people of character.

Congratulations to C/CMSgt Lee for representing yourself, Squadron 44 and the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program in such a fine manner.
